Privacy policy

Gigg (“we”) is a tool for bands to manage their songs, setlists, shows, calendar, earnings and chat, with public pages for bands and venues. This policy explains what we collect and what happens to it. Questions: info@gigg.live.

What we collect

Your account. Your name and email address, and a password (which we store only as a one-way hash, never in readable form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier from Google. We record whether you’ve confirmed your email address.

What you add. Band details, your member profile (display name, instrument, bio, photo), songs and chord sheets, setlists, shows, earnings and expenses, equipment, photos and videos, chat messages, practice and event entries, replies and unavailability, and reports or blocks you make.

Technical data. Our servers log requests (including IP address, browser and the pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. We use cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember a light/dark preference. If enabled, Google Analytics records how the site is used (pages viewed, device and approximate location) and sets its own cookies.

How we use it

• To run the service: sign you in, show your band’s content to its members, and send confirmation and password-reset emails.
• To keep it safe: prevent abuse and automated sign-ups, investigate reports, and secure accounts.
• To understand and improve the site, through aggregate usage statistics.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

• Your band’s members can see the band’s songs, setlists, shows, calendar, chat, equipment, earnings and media, and your member profile. Band owners and admins can manage members.
• The public can see what a band chooses to publish on its public page: its name, bio and photo, shows marked public, public media, and its members’ display names, instruments, bios and photos. Venue pages are public and list the public shows booked there. Earnings, chat and the calendar are never public.
• Site administrators can view and manage accounts and content on the service, for example to handle reports and support requests.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the service, and they process data only for that purpose:

• Resend, to send emails (your email address and the message).
• Cloudflare Turnstile, to check that sign-ups are made by people (it sees technical information about your browser).
• Google, if you use Google sign-in, and for Google Analytics if enabled.
• Our hosting provider, where the service and your data are stored.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your account page (or by emailing us if you can’t sign in). Deletion removes your account, memberships and profile. Content you added to a band, such as chat messages, earnings, photos and songs, stays with the band for its other members but is no longer linked to you. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security.

Security

Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and access to band data is limited to its members. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, change your password and contact us.

Children

Gigg is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile and delete your account yourself. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as accessing or correcting your data; contact us and we’ll help.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you.
